1. Agreement

By downloading or using AVOW ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What AVOW does

AVOW is a work and study timer that uses detection on your device to count only the time you are physically present and, when distraction detection is enabled, not visibly using a phone or similar device. On computers, the optional AVOW Desktop app can additionally treat idle time and the distracting apps or sites you choose as not working, using the same approach on your device. Detection is automated and not perfect; lighting, camera angle, obstructions, and device position can affect it. AVOW is a productivity aid, not a measurement instrument, and results are provided as is.

3. License

We grant you a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use AVOW on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms.

4. Free tier and subscriptions

The free version includes three qualifying sessions, provided directly by AVOW. A session qualifies when it completes, or when you end it early after at least two minutes of monitored time; sessions that never really start (camera or permission failures, immediate exits) do not count against you. Continued use afterwards requires AVOW Pro, a subscription that renews automatically: $3.99/month or $19.99/year. The monthly plan has no introductory free trial; payment starts immediately at purchase. The annual plan carries an introductory free trial of three days through Apple for eligible new subscribers, separate from the three free sessions; Apple alone determines eligibility, and annual subscribers who are not eligible are charged immediately at purchase. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before purchase.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase or, for an eligible annual trial, when the trial ends unless cancelled at least 24 hours earlier. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.

5. Acceptable use and your content

Do not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and do not use it in any way that violates law or the rights of others. The app is not intended for monitoring anyone other than yourself.

If you create an account and use community features (friends, teams, groups, leaderboards), use respectful handles and names, do not impersonate others, and do not harass anyone. Community affiliations are verification based: do not fake a location, use an email address you do not control, or otherwise misrepresent your region, school, or company. We may remove content or affiliations, decline requests, restrict community access, or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Personal alarm recordings and imported audio stay on your device and remain yours. You are responsible for the content of your recordings and for having the necessary rights to any audio you import. Do not record other people without their consent.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

AVOW is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that detection will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that the app will improve your output; that part is on you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using AVOW at any time. We may terminate or suspend the license if you breach these terms. Sections 6 through 9 survive termination.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version is always available at this address and inside the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
